About Wash for Cash

Our story

Wash for Cash exists because of a problem every driver in South Florida knows. When you're rushing somewhere, there they are: kids on a corner waving signs for a car wash you have no time to stop for. Then comes the Saturday when you finally have a free hour and a dirty car, and there isn't a bucket in sight.

I figured that if I could see the where and the when ahead of time, I wouldn't just wave back at those kids. I'd show up. That's the whole idea behind this site: a calendar of local car wash fundraisers, so the neighbors who want to help can actually plan on it.

I've stood on the other side of those signs too, as a student (a long time ago) and as a parent whose kids washed cars for their school clubs and didn't always hit the goal. The cars that never came belonged to people who simply never knew. Wash for Cash is for both sides of the bucket: the teams that need the cars, and the drivers who would gladly bring them.

What we do

Wash for Cash is a community board for car wash fundraisers. Cheer squads, church youth groups, robotics teams, marching bands, and scout troops list their washes here so neighbors can actually find them. Every event gets its own page with a map, photos, one-tap sharing, and a printable QR code for street signs.

Listings are $10 per event, and if you're one of the first 15 to list, your first one is on the house. Featured homepage placement is limited to three washes per week so the spotlight means something.
